Additional visit - Veteran and Vintage car rally at Chartwell on Wednesday 28th July.
The rally itself should be a fascinating affair if last years was anything to go by. There was a superb array of about 70 cars from a 1902 De Dion through to a couple of mid-fifties Rolls Royces, via Lanchester, Bentley, Amilcar, Oldsmobile and too many others to mention.
This year, Morgan owners will be specially catered for, with designated parking, the opportunity for a Morgans only photoshoot in front of the house (not normally accessible to cars) and a free tour of the gardens, led by an MSCC member (myself!). I can see the photoshoot being featured in several entries for the cover of Miscellany and next years MSCC calendar! If Morgan owners pitch up at around 10.00am, theyll be directed to their parking and be free to stroll around the car park and admire the rally entries. Refreshments will be available as usual in Chartwells restaurant and the house and gardens will be open from 11.00am. Entry is free to NT members, to non-members it is GBP2.00 for parking, GBP10.60 per adult for house, studio and gardens, GBP5.30 per adult for studio and gardens.Could MSCC and MTWC members who intend coming, please let me know so that we have a rough idea of numbers for parking etc.
